The French League (LFP) announced on Monday that a rematch between Nice and Marseille, which ended in mayhem in August, will take place on October 27.

The LFP stated in a statement that the game's location will be revealed later, but that it would be televised live in France by its primary broadcast partner, Amazon.

The game will be played on neutral ground and behind closed doors, according to a decision made by the league's disciplinary committee last week.

With 15 minutes remaining in the Allianz Riviera's Mediterranean derby against Marseille, hosts Nice led 1-0 when Marseille's Dimitri Payet was struck by a bottle as he attempted to take a corner.

As team-mates rushed over to remonstrate with home supporters behind the goal, Payet hurled a bottle back into the crowd.

Supporters poured onto the pitch, resulting in a fight involving players, officials, fans, and stewards.
