Arsenal have reportedly been handed encouragement in their efforts to land Houssem Aouar as Lyon would now entertain loan offers for the midfielder, according to reports in France.
The north Londoners had made him one of their top targets last year but their £32 million offer was rejected by Les Gones, who were demanding a €60 million (£55.5m) fee.
They have been actively looking to sell the player during the current window and had even reduced the star’s asking price to just £25m.
However, the Ligue 1 side have received no firm proposals for the midfielder and with the transfer deadline closing in Lyon are willing to compromise even further to ensure a summer deal is struck.
According to Get French Football, they would be prepared to let the 23-year-old leave on loan but an obligation to buy.
Arsenal considered rekindling their interest in Aouar this summer but their priority was to strike a permanent deal for the Norway international Martin Odegaard, which was finalised last week.
