Last season, the 22-year-old La Masia graduate had a good season with Barcelona B and was expected to get into the main squad this season.

During preseason, however, it became clear that manager Ronald Koeman did not want to rely on the dynamic attacking midfielder. A loan transfer to Belgian club Club Brugge was on the verge of being completed when it fell through at the final minute.

Collado appeared to be on his way to England as the transfer deadline approached, with EFL Championship club Sheffield United being mentioned as a possible loan destination for the 22-year-old. Unfortunately for the youngster, this deal also fell through late on transfer deadline day owing to documentation difficulties.

Collado has not been registered with the B squad, nor has he been registered with La Liga as a first-team member, due to his inability to leave Barcelona. According to the latest Cadena SER report, the Catalans are now looking to add him to the senior team for the upcoming season.

According to La Liga sources, registration is not feasible at this time. The 22-year-old is now in a difficult predicament. And, if he cannot be included to the La Liga roster, Collado and Barcelona may have no choice but to go.

While virtually all major leagues have closed their transfer windows, teams in Russia, Turkey, and a few other European countries can still add players. Barcelona sent out-of-favor midfielder Miralem Pjanic on a season-long loan to Besiktas earlier this month.
