Liberty Professionals captain Alfred Nelson has charged the club’s youngsters to step up to the plate in the absence of impact players Kennedy Ashia and Tamimu Muntari.
The Dansoman-based side have to make do without the duo who are away on national team assignments.
Liberty have struggled to score goals this term in the First Capital Plus League.
All the seven goals they’ve scored so far in the Premier League has come from midfielders like Ashia and Tamimu and from the defence.
Their absence will thus have a major effect on the form of the side.
But captain Alfred Nelson believes the duo’s absence presents a unique opportunity for fringe players and youngsters at the club to prove themselves.
“Ashia and Tamimu are not with the team for now and I think it will affect us because of how important they’ve been for us,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“But this means there are opportunities for other players and they must make full use of it.”
Liberty are currently 10th in the Ghanaian top flight after nine rounds of matches.
