Former Super goalkeeper, Peter Rufa is suggested to be satisfied with the newly discovered Nigeria shot stopper, Stanley Nwabali after his outstanding performance for the team at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Nwabali came into the team on the back of a gaolkerping crisis after football fans seems to have lost hope in the department following the first choice Francis Uzoho’s lackluster performance in the build up to the continental show piece.
However the Chippa United goalie came in to the first team, stood tall in goal and make remarkable claim of the number one shirt with his incredible performance.
“In the commencement of the AFCON, the first match against Equatorial Guinea, that was my first time seeing Stanley Nwabali,” Rufai told TVC News Nigeria as per Daily Post.
“Immediately I assessed his performance, his movement, communication, composure and I immediately said to myself Nigeria has been able to solve this problem – the yearning of Nigeria getting a better goalkeeper for the Super Eagles.
“Nwabali in that first match [against Equatorial Guinea] satisfied me and I was happy with what I saw, Nigerians were happy with what they saw as well but it didn’t just end there,” he stated
