Lagos-born Chelsea Legend Aluko Inducted into WSL Hall of Fame

Chelsea announced on Thursday that three Blues icons, including Lagos-born striker Eniola Aluko, have been inducted into the Women's Super League Hall of Fame.

The other honorees who have a past with Chelsea are Karen Carney and Katie Chapman.

The three players have been recognised for their achievements in and contributions to the Women’s Super League during their illustrious careers.

Eniola Aluko earned over a hundred caps for the Lionesses, featuring at three World Cups and three European Championships and was a member of Great Britain's squad to the 2012 Olympic Games.

In two different spells at Chelsea, she won the double in 2015 and 2017-2018, and was the top scorer in the Women's Super League in 2016.

Aluko became the first recipient of the Chelsea Women’s Player of the Year prize in 2015.

Her younger brother Sone Aluko represented Nigeria at the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup and has caps for the Super Eagles.
