Striker Kwesi Appiah feels elated to have scored on his first full debut for Ghana in the 3-0 win over Olhanense in the team’s first warm up game ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 24-year-old scored just after the restart to give the Black Stars a comfortable 2-0 lead after Christian Atsu has handed the side the lead in the game played in Algarve on Wednesday.

Jordan Ayew wrapped up the victory later on in the game.

Appiah who is officially on the books of Crystal Palace but has been loaned out several times was a surprise call up into the Black Stars’ provisional squad for the 2015 AFCON.

The former Peterborough United player however proved he could be useful by scoring on his first full debut with the Black Stars.

The young striker is reveling in the special moment of getting his name on the scoresheet in just his first game for Ghana.

“Buzzing to have scored on my international debut for @ghanafaofficial very proud moment,” the youngster Tweeted moments after the game.

Appiah’s goal puts him right in the mix for selection into Ghana’s final squad for the 2015 AFCON which is expected to be made before CAF’s midnight deadline.

He is competing for limited spots in Ghana’s striking department against Jordan Ayew and David Accam with captain Asamoah Gyan having an assured place.
