Slavia Prague forward Yira Sor could complete his transfer move to Belgian topside KRC Genk as soon as January 1, the opening day of the winter transfer window.
Yor has been on the radar of Racing Genk since the summer with the Belgians willing to break their transfer record to secure the Nigerian youngster.
Despite the impressive form of another Nigerian, Paul Onuachu for the Belgian side, Genk consider the former Nigeria U-20 forward as additional attacking quality, especially with the unfortunate injury suffered by Luca Oyen.
And according to HBVL, Slavia Prague have accepted a €6.5 million offer for Sor. The 22-year-old striker has reportedly landed in Genk where he is to undergo the mandatory physical and medical tests.
The deal is expected to be completed and announced within the next few days.
If the deal is sealed, Yira Sor will become the second most expensive player Genk ever signed, surpassing compatriot Paul Onuachu. Onuachu arrived from FC Midtjylland for six million euros three years ago.
Genk’s most expensive purchase remains Theo Bongonda who joined the Blue-White from SV Zulte Waregem for €7 million in 2019.
