Kogi United FC trash Ohikwo FC ahead of NLO final playoff

Kogi United FC on Friday afternoon trashed Ohikwo football club 12-1 at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium to kick-start preparations ahead of the forthcoming Nationwide League One final playoff against Yoca Crocodiles of Kaduna who emerged winners of the Kaduna NLO Centre last month, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Kogi United FC who won all their Four (4) Matches to top the Kontagora NLO centre last month will Square up against the Kaduna based Nationwide League One Side for promotion back to the Nation's second tier League, the Nigeria National League NNL.

12 goals in the 90 minutes duration of the game was enough to dismantle Ohikwo FC who however pulled one goal back as consolation in the dying minutes of the game.

Kogi United FC who against all odds defeated all teams in Kontagora including home team Niger Tornadoes Feeders topped the centre and is billed to face winner of Kaduna Centre on 27th May 2024 at the Bwari township stadium. Winner of the one legged encounter will automatically be promoted to the Nigeria National League.

Team Manager of Kogi United Mallam Tijani Ibrahim told the club Media after the Ohikwo Fc friendly that the team is now in shape ahead of the trip to Abuja.

"After the playoff in Kontagora, we came back home and rested the boys very well for few days for them to regain lost strength and now we are back to business to prepare for the last lap of the playoff which is against another good side, Yoca Crocodiles of Kaduna who emerged winner of the playoff in Kaduna".

"The entire players, technical crew and backroom staff have all been motivated with their winning bonuses from that stellar performance in Kontagora and many other incentives and hopefully the final job will be done in Bwari on 27th May which incidentally happens to be a National holiday, Children's day".

The Ohikwo FC friendly today is one in the series of many other games lined up for the team by Kogi United FC management to keep the boys in shape ahead of the crucial game of the Nationwide League One playoff billed for the Nation's capital against Yoca Crocodiles FC of Kaduna.
