Shakhtar went on to win the game 1-0 courtesy of a late Maycon strike.

The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine has now slammed a three-game suspension on the striker following the incident.

Kayode is now expected to miss the Miners’ games against Arsenal Kyiv, Olimpik Donetsk [Ukrainian Cup] and the derby against Dynamo Kyiv.

The game against Desena was the 24-year old’s first start for Paolo Fonseca’s men this season.

He missed the start of the campaign due to injury picked up in pre-season training.

The former Nigeria international has made five appearances in all competitions for Shakhtar this season.

He was an unused substitute in the Ukrainian champions’ 3-0 home loss to Manchester City in a UEFA Champions League game on Wednesday.
