Kayode Benched In Shakhtar’s Home Loss To Man City; Ubong Subbed On As Plzen Lose To Madrid

Super Eagles forward, Olanrewaju Kayode was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes in his Ukrainian club, Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 home loss to Manchester City in their Champions League clash at the Oblasny Sport Komplex Metalist, Kharkiv on Tuesday.

Kayode has made one appearance for the Shakhtar Donetsk in the competition, in the 2-2 draw at Lyon on October 2.

David Silva opened scoring for Man City on the half hour mark with Aymeric Laporte adding to the advantage five minutes later.

Portugal midfielder, Bernardo Silva got Manchester City’s third of the night in the 70th minute after he was played through by Riyad Mahrez.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, former Akwa United midfielder, Ubong Moses was on for 14 minutes in Viktoria Plzen 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid.

Ubong came in for Milan Havel in the 76th minute and was unable to rescue his side from defeat in the encounter.

Karem Benzema and Marcelo were on target for Real Madrid, Patrik Hrošovský got Plzen’s only goal of the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to his former club, Manchester United ended on a joyful note as Juventus secured a slim 1-0 win against the Red Devils at the Old Trafford.

Argentina forward, Paulo Dybala netted the decisive goal on 13 minutes.
