Nigerian forward Josh Maja was on target for West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship against Luton Town but his goal wasn't enough for Carlos Corberán to take all maximum points, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Baggies drew 1-1 with the Hatters at Kenilworth Road in the Sky Bet Championship, scoring in first-half added time courtesy of Josh Maja before the hosts who had another Nigerian in Victor Moses on their side bagged a second-half equaliser through Tahith Chong.

Speaking after the game, Callum Styles, Left back for Albion praised Maja's massive contributions to the team since his return from a long term injury.

"Josh Maja’s goal has got to be a catalyst for us. It was a nice goal from him, and Karlan (Grant) did excellently as well".

It's no doubt that the team will miss the defensive abilities of another Nigerian in Semi Ajayi who has been ruled out for 16 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury as revealed by the head coach before the game yesterday.

He will also miss Super Eagles 2025 AFCON qualifier final game against Rwanda.
