John Stones faces spell on sidelines after Inter confirm injury

Inter have confirmed that defender John Stones suffered an injury during their 5-3 Serie A win over Udinese in the fourth round of the season.

The England international was named in Inter’s starting line-up for the first time on Monday, but was forced to leave the field during the match.

Italian media reports suggest Stones could be unavailable for about a month. He will therefore miss Saturday’s game against Roma.

Inter will also be without Hakan Calhanoglu, who has sustained a muscle injury to the adductor of his right thigh.
