Joe Aribo says his Nigeria call-up has vindicated his summer move to Rangers.

The midfielder made the switch from Charlton Athletic to Rangers in the summer, knocking back interest from England to join Steven Gerrard’s squad.

At the time, Charlton manager Lee Bowyer was very critical of Aribo and the Scottish game, per TalkSPORT.

But Aribo believes his move to Rangers has been vindicated by his recent call-up to the Nigeria national team.

Aribo has played 15 times for the Ibrox side this season and now has a Nigeria cap to his name – playing in their friendly with Ukraine earlier this month.

He actually scored in the game too – and spoke today about that achievement:

Aribo has dropped out of the Rangers team over recent games, but could be set to return for their Betfred Cup quarter-final clash with Livingston tomorrow night.

Normally when players face the media in the build-up to the game, it means the manager has an idea of playing them.
