Folarin Balogun will represent the United States of America and not England or Nigeria, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.
FIFA approved the 21-year-old striker’s request by the U.S Federation to change his eligibility from England on Tuesday and he can be picked by the USA.
Folarin was born in New York to Nigerian parents and was raised in England, making him eligible to represent the three countries.
Folarin Balogun had said he was open to playing for Nigeria at senior international level last year, but United States caretaker coach Anthony Hudson confirmed talks about the striker switching international allegiance in March.
