Inter to announce Marotta on Thursday

Giuseppe Marotta will officially be announced as Inter’s new CEO at a board of directors meeting on Thursday.

The former Juventus man has already been hard at work for the Nerazzurri, attending official functions despite the fact he hasn’t been presented by the club.

That will change of Thursday, with ANSA reporting he will be appointed as the club’s CEO.

Marotta will be responsible for the sporting side of things, while current CEO Alessandro Antonello will maintain his position and overlook the financial aspect of the position.

It’s believed Marotta will also be handed general manager powers, with the Italian having already earmarked several names according to Corriere dello Sport.

One player being looked at is Luka Modric, who the Nerazzurri missed out on during the summer, though teammate Toni Kroos is also being considered by Marotta.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Lazio is also being monitored, while youngsters Sandro Tonali of Brescia and Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella round out the list of targets.
