In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gabriele Oriali spoke about Inter's future and his role within the club:

"I am not part of the team per se, I am the person who represents the club in Appiano (Appiano Gentile, where the club training center is located, editor's note). I am responsible for the player behavior, I try to transmit what it means to be an Inter player"

He goes on, speaking about his relationship to Antonio Conte: "In the summer of 2014, (then FIGC president) Giorgio Tavecchio calls me and asks me if I would be interested in assuming the role of Italy's team manager, then coached by Conte. I meet with him in Milan and in 5 minutes I find out that we see things the same way. We are hard-working men. He's an incredible tactician, everybody was able to see that this year with Inter, everybody has a precise role within the team."

On Inter next season, Oriali admits: "I'm worried because we still don't have a well-defined plan, we don't even know when and where the team will start its preparation for next season. I don't know if Conte will stay, we have to understand what ownership intends to do first. The last few months were hard on everybody, especially on us, but we managed to get through it all".
