Diego Simeone has praised Ademola Lookman following his impressive performance in Atlético Madrid’s 3–2 defeat to Real Madrid, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Lookman opened the scoring in the 33rd minute at the Santiago Bernabéu, finishing off a well-worked move after being set up by Giuliano Simeone following an initial build-up involving Johnny Cardoso and Matteo Ruggeri.
The goal marked the Nigerian international’s second in the La Liga this season.
Speaking after the match, Simeone commended the winger’s development and overall contribution to the team.
“Ademola Lookman is improving, working very well, giving us different things. We’re helping him grow defensively because he has that work ethic. He’s a player with a big heart and a desire to learn,” Simeone said.
“Hopefully he keeps giving us important things like today,” he added.
Lookman has now recorded five goals and three assists in 14 appearances across all competitions, continuing to establish himself as an important figure in Atlético Madrid’s attacking setup.
