Real Madrid target 15-year-old JJ Gabriel after Manchester United exit request

Real Madrid are working on a deal to sign 15-year-old JJ Gabriel after the Manchester United academy player asked for his registration to be cancelled with immediate effect.

Gabriel is regarded as one of the most promising players to emerge from Manchester United’s academy in recent years. He had been due to make his first-team debut in the League Cup match against Brighton on Wednesday, September 16.

That appearance will no longer go ahead after Gabriel reportedly indicated that he believes his future lies away from Old Trafford.

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid are now attempting to secure a move for the teenager to the Spanish capital.

The Spanish club face competition for Gabriel’s signature, with Barcelona also interested. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are likewise potential suitors.

Although Gabriel is only 15, he will be eligible to join European clubs when he turns 16 because he holds an Irish passport.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the youngster, although it is not yet clear which club Gabriel would prefer.
