The 22-year-old has established himself as a notable performer for Villarreal this season. Freeman has started six of the club’s nine LaLiga matches so far and has scored once.

According to TeamTalk, his performances have attracted attention from prominent clubs in England and elsewhere in Europe. Tottenham are understood to be preparing for the possible departure of Pedro Porro next summer, with Real Madrid and Barcelona both interested in taking the defender back to Spain.

Freeman is therefore expected to face strong competition for his signature if Villarreal decide to consider offers. Manchester United have already sent scouts to watch him, while Chelsea and Manchester City are also reported to be interested.

Tottenham’s interest is linked to the prospect of Porro leaving, as both Real Madrid and Barcelona are keen to bring him back to Spain next summer. Freeman’s impressive start to the campaign has made him one of the defenders being assessed by clubs seeking alternatives.
