Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to offer Ousmane Dembele a new contract that could keep the forward at the club until 2031.
The 29-year-old’s current agreement runs until the middle of 2028. However, the player and the club have previously been reported to share an interest in reaching a new arrangement, and PSG are now understood to be considering a further three-year extension.
According to transfer insider Nicolo Schira, the Parisian club’s leadership intends to extend Dembele’s deal through to 2031. No new agreement has been announced, but the report indicates that discussions over the forward’s future remain an important consideration for the club.
Dembele is the latest high-profile player linked with a longer-term commitment at Paris Saint-Germain. The club recently announced contract extensions for manager Luis Enrique, defenders Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho, midfielders Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz, and young midfielder Senny Mayulu.
Those renewals form part of a series of decisions about the club’s squad and coaching structure. Dembele’s existing contract still has almost two years remaining, but the reported intention to extend it would provide Paris Saint-Germain with a longer-term agreement for one of their key forwards.
The developments come as the reigning French champions have made an unconvincing start to the new campaign. Paris Saint-Germain have yet to win in Ligue 1 after the opening three rounds and have collected only two points.
That record leaves the club facing an early challenge in the league, although its reported plans for Dembele underline the importance of the player to the longer-term project at Paris Saint-Germain. The forward’s current deal remains in place until mid-2028, while the club considers whether to secure his services for a further three seasons.
For now, the proposed extension remains at the stage of a reported intention rather than a completed transaction. Schira’s information suggests PSG want Dembele to remain under contract until 2031, but the club has not confirmed that a new deal has been signed.
