Atalanta have agreed a new contract with central defender Giorgio Scalvini, according to transfer insider Nicolo Schira.

The 22-year-old Italy international has extended his commitment to the Bergamo club until the summer of 2031.
Scalvini’s future had attracted attention from the English Premier League, with Chelsea and Newcastle both previously reported to be interested in signing him.

He has made five appearances in the current Serie A season. Scalvini joined Atalanta in the summer of 2021 and his transfer value is estimated at 38m euros.
