Forest boosted their survival hopes with an emphatic away win, courtesy of goals from Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Awoniyi.

Introduced in the 71st minute, Awoniyi made an immediate impact by sealing the victory with a composed finish, registering his second league goal of the season in his 12th appearance.

Aina, meanwhile, featured for the entire duration, making his 15th league appearance of the campaign.

According to ratings compiled by Nottingham Post, Awoniyi earned an impressive 7.5/10 for his performance, while Aina was given 5/10.

The publication praised Awoniyi’s contribution, noting his growing importance in the team’s run-in, while Aina’s display was described as shaky, with the full-back struggling at times defensively.

The result lifts Nottingham Forest to 16th place with 32 points, moving them above Tottenham Hotspur, who sit just below with 30 points.

Despite their contributions at the club level, both players were omitted from the Nigeria national football team squad for the upcoming international tournament and were also absent from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury setbacks.
