Tunisia captain Ferjani Sassi has declared his team's intention to secure top spot in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a win over Nigeria on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Carthage Eagles currently lead the group on goal difference after a 3-1 victory over Uganda, and Sassi believes a win against the Super Eagles will cement their position.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Sassi expressed confidence in his team's abilities, saying, "I think it will be a really good game and like I said we are confident because this could be the final of the group stage. We want to finish first and hopefully tomorrow we will do well".
Nigeria, however, has a better head-to-head record against Tunisia at the AFCON, with four wins and two defeats.
The match, scheduled for the Complexe Sportif de Fès, is expected to be a standout fixture of the group stage.
