Impressive Hearts defender Shaun October could break into South Africa squad- report
Hearts of Oak's South African import Shaun October could gatecrash the Bafana Bafana squad due to his purple-patch of form, according to reports in the Rainbow country.
The formerly Santos FC player joined the Ghana Premier League giants last year and been quick to find his feet.
October hogged the headlines after being named Man of the Match in Saturday's 1-0 win on the road to rivals Asante Kotoko in Kumasi in the Ghana Premier League derby.
“Thank God we won, so that made everything so much sweeter. It didn’t go the way I played it out in my head the night before on an attacking side, I would have loved to have to got forward more but they are a good side with speedy wingers so defensively I had to do my job and I enjoyed every minute,” he told Soccer Laduma in an interview.
"Ha ha, to win the man of the match award in such a big game is great, especially in my first start but I’m trying not to think about that too much.
"I just want to work for my next start and be consistent, but it’s a good feeling for sure. People here see Hearts of Oak vs Kotoko like Kaizer Chiefs vs Pirates."
He added that: “I can say I’m settled now, almost everyone know me. The fans are always making the players feel good, so yes things are going good,” October added.
