Super Eagles striker, Odiom Jude Ighalo has expressed his dissatisfaction in the provisional list Jose Peseiro submitted for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 41 man list which will still be trimmed down to 27 for the biggest African football competition taking place in has only three Nigeria home-based players.

Super Eagles head coach, Peseiro has included Christian Nwoke of Sporting Lagos, Obaogie Amas of Insurance and Enyimba’ Olorunleke Ojo, all of whom are goalkeepers.

This Ighalo who he himself has got no invite said “is not right.”

" I don't think is right not to invite home base players, this is a 40 man list, at least 7 to 5 players should be on the list to encourage them, not inviting them means, you don't focus on the league". Ighalo told Oma Sport

Nigeria will be expected to have a 27 players from the list before January 3 the deadline of for final submission.
