"I am the working one not the special one" - Ilechukwu reacts to accolade by supporters

In the mood of celebrating Fidelis Ilechukwu's first NPFL title, fans and supporters of the gaffer have trooped to social media platforms to praise him for his non-relentless efforts to the latest achievement, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Ilechukwu, a big name in the Nigerian coaching field on two occasions lost out on winning the NPFL on the final date, the first being with MFM FC of Lagos during the 2016-17 season, before suffering the same fate with Plateau United during the 2021-22 season.

Reacting to the victory on twitter, an exciting fan wrote "First league title for 45 year old Fidelis Ilechukwu... Say something nice to the special one." Ilechukwu reacts saying: "I'm not the special one. M They call me the WORKING ONE"

Fidelis Ilechukwu earned himself the title "The Working One" during his time coaching MFM FC when he led them from the NNL to the Nigeria Premier Football League during the 2013/14 season. He went on to lead them to the continent after finishing second behind Plateau United during the 2016-17 season, a team he also achieved second place finish with 5 seasons later.
