Hearts general captain Kofi Abanga is rallying support for the team as they battle to avoid relegation.
The Accra-based side are deep in the relegation dog-fight ahead of Wednesday’s meeting against Liberty Professionals in Dansoman.
The former African champions lost 2-1 against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko to heap pressure on the team as they fight to avoid the drop.
And the club’s general captain Kofi Abanga is calling for patience and support from the teeming fans.
“I am really in pain because a lot of our fans have been shattered. I think we cannot lose hope especially with the position we lie on the table. I hope and I want the fans to get on their feet, throw their weight behind us, and lift us from the place we find ourselves now,” Abanga told the club’s Audioboom.
“I think after that we can look back but I strongly believe we have to put all our differences aside – I mean anybody who loves this great club should do that – because this is the time we need you [fans] the most.
"I want total support from the fans because some of our players' confidence is easily shattered when the fans refuse to rally behind them, so I will continue to beg the supporters to get up and stand by us and forget all that has happened”.
