Gyan to test mettle against Europe's finest as Shanghai SIPG lineup friendly against Atletico Madrid

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan will get the chance to test himself against a quality European side with confirmation of a friendly match between Atletico Madrid and Shanghai SIPG.

The game has been scheduled to take place on August 4 in Shanghai.

The friendly match forms part of La Liga World, a project belonging to the LFP Challenge.

Both teams have confirmed they will be parading all of their first team players to thrill the Chinese crowd on August 4.

This means Asamoah Gyan will get the chance to prove himself against the likes of Fernando Torres, Koke, Diego Godin and Antoine Griezmann.

Gyan joined Shanghai SIPG in a big money move last week on a two-year contract.

He is expected to begin training with his new team on Tuesday and will hopefully make his debut in the top of the table clash against league leaders Beijing Gouan next Monday.
