Great Olympics captain Godwin Attram has rejected criticism the Ghanaian top-flight is on the decline following a decent attendance in their stalemate against Hearts on Sunday.
An estimated 15000 watched the big derby in Accra which ended in a draw at the Accra sports stadium.
Critics have attributed the low patronage of Premier League matches to the decline of the top-tie in recent times.
But the veteran midfielder insists the Ghana Premier League is not on a downward spiral and continues to boast of quality players.
“I don’t think the League is on a decline as others want us to believe,” he said
“We all saw the numbers. Even though the stadium was not filled to capacity, we had a fairly good crowd.
“It tells you that people follow the game and so if all stakeholders play their roles well, we should be seeing more of these numbers.”
