Goodison Park erupts as Alex Iwobi and Everton avoid the drop

Everton came back from two goals down to win 3-2 in front of their home crowd to secure their Premier League status for next season Led by Frank Lampard, Everton grabbed a pulsating 3-2 comeback victory over Crystal Palace in front of their home fans at the Goodison Park.

After being drawn back into the relegation battle by a 3-2 loss to Brentford during the weekend, Everton came back from two goals down courtesy of goals from Michael Keane (54'), Richarlison (75'), and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (85').

Nigerian international Iwobi retained his place as the right-sided wingback in Lampard's attacking 3-4-3 formation, starting for the 10th consecutive match in the league for Everton. The Super Eagles star was involved in the thick of the action always, getting a touch of the ball 77 times and laying on 39 successful passes (79.6%) for his teammates.

Iwobi was solid defensively, making one (1) interception, one (1) tackle, one (1) clearance, and winning five (5) of the 11 duels he contested against the Crystal Palace stars. In the attacking phases, the 26-year-old speedster laid on one (1) accurate long ball, succeeded with three (3) of eight (8) attempted dribbles and had one (1) shot blocked by the Palace defence.

Since Iwobi took up the right-wing-back position in the league match against Chelsea, Everton have picked up 10 points from a possible 15 with three (3) victories, one (1) draw, and one (1) defeat. Everton's victory at the Goodison Park on Thursday night took them up to 16th on the log their season tally to 39 points from 37 matches, enough to beat the relegation drop.

The Toffees are now four points ahead of 17th-placed Burnley and 18th-placed Leeds United going into the final matchday of the season.

Everton will face Arsenal on Matchday 38 of the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium while Burnley host Newcastle United and Leeds United travel to Brentford.
