Gombe United FC has made a significant move in preparation for the 2024-25 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, announcing the signing of 31 new players Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

These players, who bring a wealth of experience and talent, have been recruited to bolster the team as they aim for promotion to the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).

Among the notable new signings are Abubakar Hassan from Niger Tornadoes, and several players joining from Doma United, including Musa Adamu, Ibrahim Hamisu Haruna, Zaidu Ibrahim Mohammed, and Jacob Manga. Other key additions include Oliver Adisa from Smart City, Aminu Abubakar from Osun United, and Auwal Mohammed Bello, who moves from Yarma Light FC, a Nationwide League One club. Additionally, players like Chinonso Anikwe (Coal City), Damian Obodoagu, George Michael, Faisal Mohammed, Musa Ohyaba Aliyu, and Saidu Mohammed, who join from Wikki Tourists, will contribute to strengthening the squad.

The club has also added promising players from various academies across the country, including Hope Naalo Victor (Jigawa Golden Stars), Igor John (Plateau United), and a host of others who will bring fresh energy and depth to the team. These recruits will play a pivotal role in the club’s pursuit of a return to Nigeria’s top-flight league.

Gombe United’s General Manager, Malam Anas Bamusa (Kwami), expressed confidence in the team’s chances for success. In a statement, he referred to the project as “Operation Bring Gombe United Football Club to NPFL” and emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort from the management, technical staff, and devoted fans in achieving their goal of promotion.

As the new season kicks off, Gombe United will face Sokoto United in their opening fixture on Sunday, December 15. The club is hopeful that their extensive signings will set the foundation for a successful campaign and a return to the NPFL next season.
