The 21-year-old right-winger, formerly of Inter Allies, scored in second-half stoppage-time at the Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac as Timbers II kept another clean sheet and progressed.

This was Fatawu's second goal of the season for Timbers II. Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey and winger Ishmael Yartey are his team-mates at the club but he has been limited to second-team action in the current season.

After a scoreless first half, Belmar, Timbers II's leading goal scorer in USL regular-season action, netted the go-ahead goal in the 55th minute with a well-placed header inside the far post from a pinpoint cross by midfielder Seth Casiple.

It was then time for Fatawu to get his name on the score-sheet on a night he was a handed a starting berth on the line-up.

On a three-on-one break, Casiple found Fatawu on the left side of the penalty box, and the Ghanaian forward calmly finished into the open net for his second goal of the season across all competitions.
