The former Hearts of Oak trainer sealed a two-year contract to become the substantive coach of the former African champions after weeks of negotiations.

He takes over from Masud Didi Dramani who was fired last month following a strong of unimpressive performances by the league champions.

Duncan, who also coached local sides Ashantigold and Great Olympics in the past, was reluctant ot seal the deal following orders for Dramani to proceed on leave.

He was uncomfortable with the arrangement which forced the Porcupine Warriors to quickly sort out Dramani before an agreement was reached.

Duncan signed the contract on Wednesday afternoon in the presence of club CEO Opoku Nti and the coach's lawyer popularly called Barbados.

He will be unveiled to the trophy-hungry fans of Kotoko on Thursday 9:30am at the club’s secretariat in a press conference.

Duncan is one of Ghana's highly respected coaches having coached in the South African top-flight in the past but his no nonsense approach has not gone down well with a lot of administrators.
