Ghanaian forward Dominic Oduro has admitted his disappointment with his Montreal Impact's failure to defeat New York Red Bulls in Tuesday night's 1-1 stalemate at the Saputo Stadium.
However the 29-year-old has consoled himself with the point earned from the tie as they ended it at a man's disadvantage.
Montreal's best defender Ciman, on his 30th birthday, was seething. He may have been lucky to escape with only a yellow card for a hand ball that erased a possible Bradley Wright-Phillips breakaway in the 14th minute. But he looked to have played the ball first when he got a second yellow and was sent off after a tackle on Sal Zizzo in the 79th.
His sending off piled pressure on Impact as they had to play cautiously upfront with their eyes also fixed at the back not to concede a goal awaiting the final whistle.
Oduro, who has notched six league goals for Impact, expressed his disappointment at the end of the game.
“We played against one of the best teams in the league and we’re a man down, under pressure, so as disappointed as everyone is, we’ll take it,” said Oduro. “It’s better than losing at home.”
Another Ghanaian player Lloyd Sam scored the equalising goal for New York Red Bulls.
