Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris says he was attracted to return to France due to their organized and competitive league.

The 23-year-old signed a five-year contract to complete a move to Lorient earlier in the week.

The former BK Hacken star seems to have lost his way ever since leaving Sweden where he first joined Spartak Moscow before moving to Turkey to join Trabzonspor.

Waris is making a return to Ligue 1 where he previously played for Valenciennes on loan.

The Ghana international says the competitive and organized nature of the French top flight was too appealing to ignore, this his move to Lorient.

“The French League is very organized, competitive and good and life at France is also good as well,” Waris Starr Sports.

“I have played in Sweden, Russia and Turkey but I love the French game. Life there is also good as well.”
