Ghana striker Majeed Waris closing in on Stade Rennes move, set to sign Thursday

Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is expected to complete his much-anticipated move to Stade Rennes on Thursday , French media have reported.

The 23-year-old is keen to leave Turkish side Tranbzonspor after struggling since joining the side.

French outlet Le Télégramme reports that Tranbzonspor have reached an agreement with Rennes for the Ghana international to make the switch.

The news will be massive blow to fellow Lique 1 outfit Lorient, who were also interested in the striker following the departure of Jordan Ayew.

Waris rejected the move to Lorient over the idea of playing on a synthetic pitch paving the way for him to sign a long-term deal with Stade Rennes.

It’s widely reported he will sign the dotted lines and unveiled by the club on Thursday.

The former BK Hacken goal-machine is not new to French football having played on loan at Valenciennes last year.
