Khouma Babacar – Serie A, Sassuolo 1-3 Fiorentina

Senegal never seem to run out of talented strikers and 21-year-old Khouma Babacar looks like another Teranga Lions star in the making. The tall attacker put in a superb performance for his Italian club Fiorentina on Sunday, scoring in the 32nd and 62nd minutes to inspire them to a 3-1 away win over Sassuolo in Serie A. Babacar also provided an assist for the first goal of the match, scored by Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, who is on loan from Chelsea.

Brown Ideye – FA Cup, West Brom 4-0 West Ham

Brown Ideye very nearly left West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window, but Baggies fans must now be delighted that he remained with the club. The Nigerian scored a brace in West Brom’s 4-0 destruction of West Ham United in the FA Cup on Saturday and proved a nightmare for central defenders Cheikhou Kouyate and James Tomkins. Ideye has netted four goals in their last three matches and looks a striker reborn under the management of Tony Pulis.

Andre Ayew – Ligue 1, Marseille 2-2 Reims

He may have been physically and emotionally beaten by Ghana’s penalty shootout loss to Ivory Coast in the final of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, but Andre Ayew returned to his beloved Olympique Marseille in style on Friday night, scoring a fine goal in their 2-2 draw with Reims. He received special praise from former OM star Frederic Brando after the game, who described the Ghanaian as a ‘real diamond in our team’.
