Alhaji Nurudeen scored an own goal to deny Medeama maximum points as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate against Liberty Professionals at home.

The Mauve and Yellows were cruising to victory until Nurudeen directed the ball into his own net to hand the visitors a share of the spoils.

Striker Nathaniel Asamoah gave Medeama the lead in the 9th minute and looked on course for their fourth win of the season but Nurudeen’s unfortunate own goal ensured both teams shared the points.

The defeat will be a massive blow to coach Tom Strand men who were desperate to return to winning ways after losing 2-1 at Bechem United.

For Liberty the result will be a big one having managed a narrow 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea in their last encounter.
