Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah insists the team is not looking beyond their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations semi final clash against Equatorial Guinea on Thursday.

The Black Stars are overwhelming favourites to make Sunday’s grand finale ahead of the game against the Nzalang Nacional.

Many have predicted a Ghana-Ivory Coast final with the Elephants facing DR Congo in the other semi final game of the tournament.

But striker Appiah says the team’s focus is now solely on the game against the tournament hosts on Thursday.

“To be honest with you, the final is not what we are thinking about right now,” the Crystal Palace man said.

“The semi final is what our focus is on.

“They [Ivory Coast] are a good team as is everyone that has made the competition.”

Ghana hope to end their over three-decade wait for an African title this term in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars have however had to fight very hard from a disastrous start to make it this far in the competition.
