Ghana coach Avram Grant defends goalkeeper Razak Brimah over criticism on Mauritius' goal
Ghana coach Avram Grant has jumped to the defence of Black Stars goalkeeper Razak Brimah after criticism over the goal they conceded in Sunday's clash against Mauritius.
The Black Stars coach says the Spain-based shot stopper must not be blamed for the goal conceded as Ghana romped to a 7-1 win over Mauritius.
With Ghana up by 4-0, the Black Stars meekly surrendered allowing the Mauritians to pull one back with some blaming the goalkeeper but the coach insists Brimah was not at fault.
“Our goalkeeper kept four clean sheets in six games and he did a very good job. He is one of the best and also the rest of our players," Grant said.
“Sometimes we make little mistakes but the most important is how we recover. Like every game it wasn’t perfect, not even for the best team in the world.
“But I suggest to you to concentrate about the good things because you are a supporter and I am a coach and I will concentrate on the other things.”
Ghana will play their next AFCON qualifier against Rwanda in September.
