Black Stars attacker David Accam has suffered a slight leg injury while training with Chicago Fire on Friday, the club has announced.

The 24-year-old was forced to withdraw from the rest of the Chicago Fire squad on Friday to train on his own after feeling a sharp pain in his leg during training.

Accam returned to the United States to join his Fire team-mates after scoring in Ghana's 7-1 hammering of Mauritius in a 2017 AFCON qualifier.

Though the former Helsingborg IF returned before Fire's Open Cup game against Louisville City, he was unused by manager Frank Yallop as they nicked a 1-0 victory.

It is unclear whether Accam will recover in time to make the Fire squad for their Major League Soccer clash with DC United on the 25th of June.

Accam has contributed four (4) goals to Fire's campaign this season.
