Gernot Rohr has disclosed he will wait to decide on who will be in goal for the Super Eagles against South Africa after today’s training in Asaba.

In the absence of injured Francis Uzoho, the three goalkeepers in camp – Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi and Theophilus Afelokhai – have been pushing to start on Saturday afternoon.

Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye said the competition among the goalkeepers has been fierce.

“Ezenwa was brave in training, Afelokhai saved a penalty against Ahmed Musa after he did well with Enyimba, while Akpeyi has been on good form right now,” he remarked.

Any of them will do well in goal on Saturday.”

The Eagles will again train behind closed doors today before they travel by road to Benin City from where they will fly out to Johannesburg.

Officials said the team will depart for South Africa by 5pm today on a chartered flight.
