Genk announce the acquisition of former Flying Eagles forward, Yira Sor

Former Flying Eagles winger, Yira has completed his move to Belgian Jupiler Pro League Giants, KRC Genk Prague from Czech Republic club, Slavia Prague, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The club made the official announcement of the player's transfer status via their website on Wednesday.

"KRC Genk today signed an agreement with Yira Sor until 2027 and thus takes over from Slavia Prague. The 22-year-old Nigerian can handle all offensive positions and he also proved that at European level. In the 21-22 season, he scored 6 goals in 6 European games, including a goal against Feyenoord in the Conference League quarter finals", A statement from the club read in part.

It will be recalled that this medium reported that a record fee of €6.5m fee was on the table to sign the former Flying Eagles winger, Yira Sor from Slavia Prague just a day ago.

If the aforementioned fee is exact then Sor will become Genk’s most expensive signing surpassing compatriot, Paul Onuachu who who arrived from FC Midtjylland for €6m in 2019.

He joined Slavia Prague from the Czech F joiirst League club, Banik Ostrava in 2022 and scored 11 times and provided nine assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for Slavia Prague in an injury ravaged season.
