Shooting Stars Sports Club Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has revealed he is in talks with the club to renew his contract, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Ogunbote's two years contract comes to an end after the Nigeria Premier Football League 2023/2024 season and has been rumoured to leave the club as his "custom" is.
However, report from Mike the Pundit, a Nigeria football transfer expert says there are discussions between the two parties and the former Remo Stars Coach has confirmed the news while speaking in a radio interview.
“While there’s no contract yet, discussions have been ongoing since before the season ended, and I’m optimistic that the club will make an official announcement once a new contract is agreed upon,” Ogunbote revealed in an exclusive chat with YesFm Ibadan.
More reports from Mike say the club hierarchy are convinced that the veteran tactician will renew with the State Governor fully briefed.
And Ogunbote is ready for another challenge but will sign a new deal if the terms in Ibadan are right for him.
