Super Eagles central defender, Samson Gbadebo has expressed personal disappointment over the side ouster at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda.
Eagles came short of the mark no thanks to 0-1 loss to Guinean opposite, Syli Nationale in Tuesday’s last group match in Rubavu.
Gbadebo said he had dreamed of seeing the side march forward to contest the podium dance comes February 07.
“I was disappointed with the sudden way everything turned out in the loss and elimination from the championship courtesy of the defeat to Guinea.
“I was more disappointed with myself because I never got the opportunity to play in the championship.
“Perhaps the dreamed opportunity to play may have come after all if we had continued in the championship but now it’s over.
“However, I still feel a sense of satisfaction with the rare opportunity to be part and parcel of the CHAN party.
“I thought we were made for the final onslaught given the fine start against Niger but when no one expected it we failed the Guinean test.
“I believe the experience and exposure picked while our stay lasted at the championship will help me greatly in future assignments,” said Gbadebo to supersport.com.
Gbadebo ‘Mr Reliable’ who campaigned in Lobi Stars’ colours in the out gone top flight will feature for the nation’s Caf Confederation Cup side, Nasarawa United in the coming football season.
