Fulham have been monitoring the duo of Samuel Chukwueze and fellow countryman, Philip Otele, with the London-based club keen on more attacking reinforcements before the close of the transfer window, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Marco Silva's side is not set to make their final decision this week.
The Craven Cottage outfits have long been admirers of Basel's Philip Otele, having added him to their list of options. They are now set to watch him again this week, making him a cheaper alternative to Chukwueze as his valuation his under €15m.
As per Ben Jacobs, Fulham are still active on Philip Otele and as such, they are expected to watch Otele again as Basel play Copenhagen on Wednesday before deciding whether to place an official bid.
Otele has also attracted interest from Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Bundesliga club reportedly weighing up the possibility of submitting an official bid.
The Nigerian winger, praised as “incredible” by former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu, made a permanent move to FC Basel after a successful loan spell from Al-Wahda in the United Arab Emirates. During that loan period, Otele impressed with nine goals in just 18 Swiss Super League appearances, quickly establishing himself as a standout performer.
