Flying Eagles get the better of Lobi Stars as they go on break for Christmas

Nigeria U-20 side, Flying Eagles defeated Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side, Lobi Stars of Makurdi in another pre AFCON warm up match at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch in Abuja.

The Nigeria team won by two goals nil courtesy of second half goals by Ridwan Sarki and Olusegun Otunsaya sealed the win.

A cagey encounter it was with nothing to choose between the two teams for over an hour, but the Ladan Bosso boys did unleash their Arsenal later on the game.

The first goal came in the 76th minute with Sarki breaking the dead lock with a free kick to put his team in the driving seat.

Ten minutes later Otusanya increased the tally to put the game beyond Lobi Stars. It ended that way bringing their warm up games to an end an impressive note.

The Flying Eagles won eight of the friendlies and drew onex scoring 40 goals and conceding only two goals.

Meanwhile, the Coach of the U-20 team, Ladan Bosso has given his lads a break after the match to celebrate the Yuletide period.

The players will resume for the final phase of the camping exercise on January 6 in preparation of the CAF U-20 African Nations Cup in Egypt that will hold between February and March 2023.
