Flamingos fly above Chile for a place in second round

Nigeria U-17 girls nicknamed Flamingos booked a second spot at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup on Monday afternoon, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Flamingos built on their solid performance from matchday 2 where they defeated New Zealand 4-0 to get past Chile in the afternoon.

Blessing Emmanuel opened the scoring for the Flamingos in the 4th minute of the game before Bisola Mosaku put the game past the reach of Chile scoring Nigeria's 2nd in the 82nd minute.

Chile pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 90 minutes to leave the final scores at 2-1.

The result meant Flamingos qualified from Group B as runner up behind Germany who finished top of the group with 9 points following a comprehensive 4-1 win over New Zealand.
