Coach Avram Grant’s decision to overlook fit again Kwadwo Asamoah from his team to take on Mauritius is aimed at affording the player enough time to sort himself out before returning to national team.

The 26 year old midfielder picked up a career threatening injury last December which forced him to sit out the Africa cup of nations in Equatorial Guinea where Ghana finished second only to Ivory Coast.

Asamoah has however returned in time to join the Juventus party after making the team for their Coppa Italia triumph and also picking up a medal for his sides success in the league.

The ex-Udinese man is expected to boost Avram Grant’s team with his versatility to play in both midfield and if required in defense a priceless asset.

Grant has however decided to afford him a grace period so as to enable him recuperate adequately before taking up national team duties.

“We assessed Kwadwo’s situation and the coach came to a conclusion that it was fine if we gave him a rest for the Mauritius game,” a source close to the team told GHANAsoccernet.com

‘’He should be in consideration for the next call ups but at the moment the coach thinks its fine that he gets this one off.”
